She was predeceased by: her parents, John Peters and Marie Peters (Joens); her husband Delbert Heckman; and her brothers, Orville Peters and Lawrence Peters.

She is survived by: her children, Jerry Heckman (Gerry) and Jolene Dittmer; and her grandchildren, Lynne Vaz (Carlos), Michelle Fuller (Mike), Brian Dittmer, Leland Heckman, Matthew Heckman (Chelsey) and Cody Heckman. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

Memorials may be made in Joyce's name to the Lacona Fire Department.
