He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Dittmer and Margaret Dittmer (Schurman); his former wife Marilyn; his brother Michael Dittmer; his son-in-law Gerry Thompson; and his brother-in-law Jerry Sternquist.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Heaton; his children, Debra Dittmer, Robert Dittmer (Marina), Anita Dittmer and Nadine Thompson; his grandchildren, Jeremy Dittmer (Jessica), Amber Dittmer, Nate Thompson, Zoey Thompson, Curtis Weis, Rebecca Heaton, William Heaton and Jared Heaton; his great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Paul, Waylon, Connor and Logan; and his siblings, Germain Dittmer (Mary Ellen), Mary Lou Hartogh (Leon), Lola Sternquist, Deloris Van Ryswyk (Don), Roberta Burnett (Dick), Jolene Dittmer, Wendell Dittmer (Vicki), Ruby Moon (Neil), Matt Dittmer (Becky) and Marjorie Worley (Steve). He is also survived by many extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Lacona Fire Department or Rosemount Cemetery.
