He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Hayungs and Virginia Foutz Hayungs; his wife Shirley Houser; and his brothers, Harlan and Donald.
He is survived by: his children, Tonja Hayungs-Goldstein (Mindy) of Prairie Village, Kansas, Paul (Beth) of Eldridge and Chuck (Danee); his grandchildren, Sarah Hackbarth (Ryan), Emily Meyer (Brad), Sophie, Alex and Jonah; his great grandchildren, Claire, Jackson, Caleb and Kate; his siblings, Robert Hayungs (Karleda) of Clear Lake and Jan Green of Waterloo; and his sisters-in-law, Judy Hayungs of Monticello and Sandy Hayungs of Waterloo.
In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Hospice.
