He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis W. Schmitz and Berniece E. Delagardelle Schmitz. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his children, Chris Schmitz (Julie) and Carrie Neil (Shane); his grandchildren, Dylan Schmitz, Nicole Dierks (Mitchell), Jordan Schmitz, Paige Johnson (Tucker) and Vince Neil; his great grandchild Karsen Neil; and his siblings, Pete Schmitz (Linda), Pat Schmitz (Paulette) of Delaware, Joe Schmitz of Gilbertville, Robert Schmitz of Brooklyn, Margaret Falk (Charlie) of Naples and Mary Sue Murray (John) of Osage.
