She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Gill and Mayme Gill (Lassen); her husband George J. Spence; her siblings, Ann O'Conner, Karen McIntyre, Jim, Jack, Mark and Greg Gill; her great grandchildren, Sam Schulte and Richard Rubendall; and her son-in-law Ralph Schulte.
She is survived by: her children, Becky Schulte of Ft. Dodge, Teresa Rubendall (Richard) of Waterloo, Gil Spence (Rebecca) of Dubuque, Stan Spence (Cindy) of Mt. Auburn, Timothy Spence of Phoenix and Ann Smith of Chandler; her brother Tom Gill (Lena) of Fayetteville; and her sisters-in-law, Carolyn Gill of Jesup, IA and Winnie Lambert. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
