She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Carter and Helen Carter (Wood); her stepfather Mervin Funk; and her brother Larry Carter. She is survived by: her husband Frank Michael "Mike" Bowes of Knoxville; her sons, Mark Bowes (Susan) of Portland and Sean Bowes (Trisha Holmberg) of Newton, Iowa; her brothers, Curtis Carter and Russell Carter; her grandchildren, Hannah, Taylor, Mason, Andrew and Lily Bowes; and her great grandchild Bleu.
Memorials may be given in Sandy's memory to Helping Hands of Knoxville, Iowa.
