She was predeceased by: her parents, Rene Descamps and Minnie Descamps (Carter); and her husband Ted Mart. She is survived by: her children, Sheri Pettit of Bloomfield, Lori Peterson (Stan) of Knoxville and Kevin Mart (Deb) of Knoxville; and her siblings, John Emile, Mike Descamps, Glenda Welde and Stella Cleary. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be given in Phyllis's memory to the Comfort House of Pella, 505 Union St. Pella IA, 50219 and St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl.
