With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marlin Dean Wineland (Knoxville, Iowa), who passed away on August 14, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Wineland and Grace Wineland (Ellison); and his siblings, Kenneth, Dwight and Ruth Goemaat.
He is survived by: his former wife Mary McDonald; his sons, Barry Dean Wineland (Cindy) and Marty Ray Wineland; his former wife Carol McDonald; his grandchildren, Julie, Jill, Jackie Heck, K. C. Rawlings-Church, Alexis, Lucas Heck, Emily Nichols, Kodis, Kaya Rawlings and Cheyenne Church; his girlfriend Kathy Martin (family: Blaine Martin, Melinda Doerhoff); his grandchildren, Madison Martin (Carl Phillips), Carson Martin, Paige Boucher (David) and Morgan Doerhoff (Cory Nolte); his great grandchildren, Eleanor, Evelyn and Esther Boucher; his nephew Richard Wineland; and also, Suzanne Abbott, Jeff Abbott (Vicki), Lorraine Rock (Matt) and Dena Gross (Ryan).
Memorials may be made to the Marion County Humane Society (P.O. Box 655 – Knoxville, IA 50138) to take care of Marlin's beloved cats: Fritz, Cricket, Fuli, Gretchen, Tara, and Sara until they find new homes.
