He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Emerson (Doris) and Patricia Emerson (De Witt); his wife Pam Clages; his former wife Pam Emerson; his grandsons, Devonte and Malachi; and his brother Steve Emerson.
He is survived by: his daughter Amy Swanks (Vince); his granddaughters, Taylor Sylvester and Destinie Swanks; his brother Mike Emerson; his stepchildren, Kim Murphy, Aubrey VanWaardhuizen, John Followill (Bergen) and Joel Followill (Sarah); his stepgrandchildren, Maggie Penrod (Tyler), Emily Murphy, Kellen Murphy, Sophia Murphy, Preston Followill, Freya Followill, Elle Followill, Faith Followill, Hailey VanWaardhuizen and Ian VanWaardhuizen; his nephews, Joseph and Tyler Emerson; and his pet Pete.
