He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Dr. Frank, Faye Mertz and James Hill. He is survived by: his parents, John Mertz and Marla Mertz (Hill); his daughter Harper; his brother James (Caitlin); his nieces and nephews, Nolan and Avery; and his grandmother Lorraine Hill of Milo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for Harper's future education.
