He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Nichols and Muriel LaVonne Nichols (Hartman); his sisters, Carolyn Kaye Thomas (Robert) and Marlya Wishmeyer (Jim); his nephew Marty Derringer; his niece Mary Lee Shafer; his parents-in-law, Dwight and Edna Wineland; his siblings-in-law, Marcella Younker, Ernest Wallace and Ken Wilkens; and his stepsister Laura Jane Edwards.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Kay Wineland; his children, Kerry Nichols (Amie), Tammy Goad and Teresa Robuck (Jeff); his stepmother Delores Nichols; his siblings, John Nichols (Barb), Beatrice Hensel (Ron) and Albert Miller; his half-siblings, Bobby Nichols and Christina Stark (Billy); his stepbrothers, William Nelson (Kathie) and Ron Breese (Susan); and his siblings-in-law, Vera Wilkens, Kathy Wallace and Richard Wineland (Kelly). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
