He was predeceased by : his parents, Gordon Dakin and Avis Dakin (Fisher); his granddaughter Sydney; and his grandmother Myrth Smith. He is survived by : his former wife Debra Ruth Aswegan; his wife Deb Dakin; his children, Denny Dakin, Jr., Mary Lucas (Jon), April Dakin (Jeremy Miller), Connor Dakin and Myla Dakin; his siblings, Don Dakin and Julie Rollefson (Roger); his grandchildren, Miles, Landon, Zach and Ian; his great grandchild Wyatt; and his close friends, Ron Lawton (Jane), Heather, Tony Lynde and Jennifer Emig.
