He is survived by: his children, John Hlad (Stephanie) of Monroe, Steven Hlad (Sheri) of Knoxville, Joseph Hlad (Sarah) of Indianola and Teresa Nighswander (Jim) of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
