He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Kieft and JoAnn Vande Kieft (Rooy); his sister Joann Fynaardt; and his brother-in-law Bruce Meinders. He is survived by: his children, Shawn Vande Kieft (Hillary) of Pella, Cory Vande Kieft (Abbi) of Pella and Ethan Vande Kieft of Oskaloosa; his grandchildren, Elijah, Gideon, Noah, Silas, Ephraim and Micah Vande Kieft; his sisters, Arlene Meinders and Marilou Schiebout (Bruce); and his brother-in-law Pete Fynaardt.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Bates Funeral Chapel (114 S 7th St, Oskaloosa, IA 52577). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Forest Cemetery (934 North 9th Street, Oskaloosa, IA 52577).
