He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross Reinking and Wilma Reinking (Jessen); his siblings, Sharon, Donald and Ronald; and his brother-in-law Julius Jepsen.

He is survived by: his wife Joan Marie Hinkhouse; his children, Sandra Nissen (Steven) of Kearney, MO, Brent Reinking (Sandy) of Kingsley, Perry Reinking (Jody) of Kingsley and Ryan Reinking (Heidi); his grandchildren, Breannah Ringler (Keith), Camrin Nissen (Celia), Jillian Covington (Trenton), Zachary Nissen, Cole Reinking, Allison Reinking, Emily Reinking, Jessen Reinking (Camryn) and Derek Reinking; his great grandchildren, Brayden, Hudson Ringler and Sadie Nissen; his siblings, Diane Sargisson of Le Mars and David Reinking (Peg); and his siblings-in-law, Paul Hinkhouse (Judy), Merle Hinkhouse (Cheryl) and Lorraine Jepsen.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials will be directed to Salem Lutheran Church or to the Alzheimer's Association.
