He was predeceased by: his parents, Ewald Albertsen and Marvel Albertsen (Lamprecht); and his siblings-in-law, Eleanor Albertsen, Larry Pickering (Donna) and Lynn "Butch" Pickering (Dee).

He is survived by: his wife Kay Pickering of Van Horne; his children, Peggy Oelmann (Verlen) of Parkersburg, David Albertsen (Coreen) of Keystone and Craig Albertsen of Van Horne; and his siblings, Duane Albertsen of Vinton and Diane Pippert (David) of Garrison. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
