With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sam Horras of Keota, Iowa, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on June 27, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence Horras and Marietta Horras (Reed); his sister Patsy Horras; his son Douglas; and his in-laws, Howard and Lois Williams.

He is survived by : his wife Marilyn Williams of Keota; his children, Brian Horras (Deb) of Ollie, Lisa Woltering (Tom) of Keota and Sara Horton (Gary) of Huntertown, Indiana; and his grandchildren, Amy Mosbey, Jessica Horras, Casey Woltering, Logan Bell, Mallory Woltering, Conner Woltering, Trevor Horton, Taylor Horton and Samantha Horton. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.

A rosary will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 at 3:30 PM at the Powell Funeral Home-Keota (203 S Green St, Keota, IA 52248). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the United Presbyterian Home or Hospice Compassus.
