He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren and Mildred Carris (Ruplinger); his wife Maxine Christner; his granddaughter Whitney Gray; his sister Alice Johnston; and his brothers-in-law, Clark Johnston and Lyle Swartz.
He is survived by: his children, Sandy Mast (John) of Kalona, Christy Gray of Keswick, Robert Northup (Kathy) of Brighton, Ronald Northup (Cindy) of Keota and Melody Hammes of Urbandale; and his sister Dorothy Swartz of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
