He was predeceased by: his wife Elaine; his daughter Jackie Rees; his sisters, Irma Gent (Francis), Geny Bombei (Leonard), Arlene Samuelson (Clarence), Theola Hermann (Bernard) and Betty Adams (Beryl); and his brother-in-law Leonard Mahan.
He is survived by: his children, John Schulte of Harper, Lori Schulte, Pam Collins of Ottumwa, Dan Schulte (Amy) of Keota and Debra Barnes (Billy) of Oskaloosa; his grandchildren, Ryan Schulte, Lauren Schulte of Billy Barnes, Abby, Jillian and Jaime Schulte; his great grandchildren, Rylee and Tate; and his sister Thelma Mahan of Wayland. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
