He was predeceased by: his parents, William Dean and Marguerite Heisdorffer (Post); his aunt Susanne Feuss; his uncles, Henry Feuss, Sr. and Leland Knowles; and his cousin Henry Feuss, Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Deborah Brandon of Keota; his brother Bernard Heisdorffer (Sandra); his daughter Rachel of Iowa City; his uncle Michael A. Heisdorffer of Harper; his aunt Barb Knowles of Lisbon; and his cousins, Cindy Maker, Carolyn Feuss, Marilyn Benesh, Stephen Knowles and Diana Knowles.
