He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Aitken and Jane Thompson Aitken; and his siblings, David Lee Aitken, Jessie Foulkes, Jeannette Dunn and Maxine Thompson.
He is survived by: his spouse Marita R. Fishback; his daughter Mary Joy of Keokuk; his son-in-law James Philp of Keokuk; and his great grandchild Eliza Jane Philp of Alexandria.
