He was predeceased by: his parents, LeRoy Bell and Geneva Bell (South); his wife Sharon Bell; his son Richard "Ricky" Bell; and his sister JoAnn Brinkley.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kimberly Jones (Spencer) of Keokuk, Andrea Tinder of Cedar Rapids, Julie Tinder of Wichita and Heather Davis (Mike) of Keokuk; and his grandchildren, Kimber, Larry, Justin, Shannon, Rick, Logan, Braedon, Kaedyn, Ryan, Andre, Derrick, Michaela, Michenna and Michael "MJ" Jr.. He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in care of Heather Davis.
