Deborah Ann Jefferson Obituary

Deborah "Debbie" Ann Jefferson, 60, of Keokuk, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Arbor Court in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.

Debbie was born on October 17, 1964, in Keokuk, the daughter of Albert Burgess and Margaret (Simpson) Burgess Simpson. She was very artistic, and enjoyed crafting and painting.

Debbie is survived by two sons: John Jefferson and James Burgess, both of Keokuk; her daughter Melissa Mortimer of Keokuk; eight grandchildren: Shelida, Craig, Jesse, Monica, Ray, Ryan, Witten and Johnny; two brothers: John Carmen of Keokuk and Bob Heavner of Davenport, Iowa; her sister Karen Hoadley; her aunt Frieda Shumaker of Warsaw; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents; her children Tyler Gray and Sandy McGee; and her brother Albert Burgess.

Funeral services will be held at 12 pm (noon) on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church in Keokuk, with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 10 am to 12 pm (noon) directly before the service.
