He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Brandt and Doris Southerland Brandt. He is survived by: his former wife Helen K Harlan; his wife Gretchen Cathryn Thiem; his children, Kimberly K Boyd (Jim) of Keokuk, Kirk I Brandt (Monica Pandele) of Oakland, CA, Katherine M Sulentic (Joseph) of Cosgrove, IA and Karl T Brandt (Tammy) of Cedar Rapids, IA; his grandchildren, Emily, Courtney, Megan, Max, Margareta, Fredericka, Augustus, Carrera, Kolby, Taylor, Kaden and Trinity; and his cousins, Jareen Brueckner, Irene Brandt, Judy Amenell, Carol Brandt and Pat Davis. He is also survived by spouses; and nine great-grandchildren.
