He is survived by: his children, Neysa Whippie (Rob) of Keokuk, Rebecca Root (Mitch) of Warsaw, Wanda Goldsmith (James) of Hamilton, Deborah Root of Keokuk, Helen Fontenot of Welsh, Shawn Weaver of Keokuk, Bergis Root of Hamilton and Michael Root; and his friend Donna Becas. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren, lots of cousins and nieces and nephews.
