He is survived by: his children, Chad Gerdes of Forest City, Karissa, Cade and Jesse Gerdes (Courtney) of LeMars; his grandchildren, Logan, Lucas and Grace; his girlfriend Cindy Steenlage; his brother Robert Gerdes (Sharon Grimm); his daughter-in-law Kimberly Gerdes; and his siblings-in-law, Paula Pinkham, Marcia Simpson, Linda Barker, Martha Eenhuis, Sherry Seidel, Larry Eenhuis (Barb) and Wayne (Barb).
