With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Wilbur G Ropp (Kalona, Iowa), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 13, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George C. Ropp and Fannie M. Ropp (Miller); his grandson John Ropp; and his siblings, Eldon, Lloyd, Henry and Mary.
He is survived by: his wife Verna Esther Helmuth; his children, Kathleen Miller (Lester) of Kalona, Edward (Emmaletta) of Kalona, Mervin (Pauline) of Kalona, David (Mary Esther) of Kalona, Edith Borkholder (Eli) of Kalona, Dena Bontrager (Timothy) of Kalona, Mahlon (Eileen) of Kalona, Rachel of Kalona, Nathan (Edna) of Kalona, Dorothy Miller (Leroy) of Kalona and Edna of Kalona; his siblings, Edwin (Anna), Norman (Mary Jane) and Lydia; and his sister-in-law Anna Mae of Kalona. He is also survived by 72 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Lester Miller Residence (5236 Hazelwood Ave SW, Kalona, IA 52247).
