He was predeceased by: his parents, Alton M. Borntrager and Katie Borntrager (Miller); his siblings, Duane Borntrager, Wallace Borntrager, Mattie Miller and Anna Bender; and his grandson Samuel Elijah Borntrager.
He is survived by: his wife Minerva Yoder; his children, Virgil Borntrager of Kalona, Emma Faye Ropp (Earl) of Kalona, Lynn Borntrager (Marilyn) of Kalona, Merle Borntrager (Norma) of Kalona, Rosalyn Miller (Everett) of Ava, Ila Miller (Warren) of Kalona and Kathryn Helmuth (Mark) of Kalona; his siblings, Neal Borntrager (Anna Marie) and Nelda Miller (Eldon T.); and his siblings-in-law, Edna Borntrager of Kalona, William Miller of Spencer and Glenn Bender of Humbolt, Nebraska.. He is also survived by 44 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
