Elmer L. Yoder Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elmer L. Yoder of Kalona, Iowa, born in Kokomo, Indiana, who passed away on April 14, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Yoder and Fannie Yoder (Herschberger); and his brothers, Floyd and Fred Yoder. He is survived by: his wife Marlene Swartzendruber of Kalona; his children, Brenda Brenneman (Lance) of Wellman, Deb Murray (Steve) of Boise, ID, Krista Kiefer (Todd) of Kalona, Doug Yoder (Laila) of Knoxville, TN and Darin Yoder (Katie) of Grimes, IA; his grandchildren, Mitch, Colin Brenneman (Emma), Kate Murray, Dana Murray, Mackenzie Shumake (Joey), Elle Hillyer (Jacob), Gabby Yoder, Neko Yoder and Jack Yoder; his great grandchildren, Walker, Maisie Brenneman, Ezra, Zion Hillyer, Samuel and Sawyer Shumake; his sisters, Miriam Nisly (Sheldon) of Kalona, Lovina King (Roland) of Wauseon, OH and Lora Reigsecker (Del) of Archbold, OH; and his sister-in-law Judy Yoder of Kalona. He is also survived by his family and many friends.
He has donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Iowa. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Kalona Volunteer Fire Department and Crooked Creek Christian Camp.
