He was predeceased by: his parents, Pearl Poe, and Helen Poe, Jr. (Gasper); and his brother-in-law Lynn Merck. He is survived by: his wife Deanna Yoder Redlinger of Kalona; his children, Scott Patterson (Angie) of Montezuma, IA, Jeramy Poe, BJ Poe (Nikki) of Solon, IA, Jenny Miller (Dane) of Kalona, IA, Julie Redlinger of Wellman, IA and Janelle Wayt (Mitchell) of Davenport, IA; his grandchildren, Kali, Kael Poe, Chloe Weber, Gavin and Abel Miller; his sister Gayle Lacasse (David) of Center Harbor, NH; and his siblings-in-law, Marlin Yoder (Judy) of McLeansville, NC, Harlan Yoder (Mary) of Iowa City, IA and Donna Merck of Kalona, IA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home (201 B Ave, Kalona, IA 52247). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Kalona United Methodist Church (302 4th St, Kalona, IA 52247).
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for the University of Iowa Organ Transplant Center and the Kalona United Methodist Church.
