It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steven Schaer of Johnston, Iowa, born in Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on October 7, 2023, at the age of 50, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father James Schaer; and his nephew Tristan Sawtelle. He is survived by: his mother Martha Schaer; his siblings, Mindy Sawtelle (Jim) and Dave Schaer (Vicki); and his nieces and nephews, Anna Sawtelle, Samantha Rose (Jesse), Caroline Sawtelle, Allyson Schaer, Natalie Schaer, Joseph Sawtelle and JD Schaer. He is also survived by extended family; and many friends.
