He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde William and Kathryn Scherer (Hays). He is survived by: his wife Mary of Johnston; his children, J. R. of Winterset, Toni Flood of Maricopa, AZ and Katie Murray of Armstrong; his stepdaughter Lori Leporte (John) of Aurora, MO; his grandchildren, Caleb, Michael, Ava Flood, Patrick Murray and Joseph Leporte; and his siblings, Gary Scherer (Terri) of Mount Pleasant and Gail Stoller (Gregory) of Grand Junction, CO. He is also survived by three nieces and two nephews.
