He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubrey Sanders and Veva Sanders; his wife Ruth Dirksen; his brother Richard; and his sister-in-law Karleen Sanders.
He is survived by: his children, Aubrey, Veva Woodyard Sanders, Jeff of Waukee, Jill Sanders (Marcie Watson) of Alexandria, MN and Jason Sanders (Tammy) of Clive; his grandchildren, Nathan (Megan), Olivia, Ty and Schipper Sanders; and his brother Bill Sanders (Jennifer). He is also survived by several nephews, nieces, their families and many friends.
Memorials may be given to Lutheran Church of Hope Waukee or Waukee Christian Services Food Bank.
