We bid farewell to Gerald Lester Esser of Johnston, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 12, 2025 at the age of 90. Gerald Lester touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Esser and Dora Esser (Hall); and his son-in-law Glen Hall. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Even of Anthony's Church; his children, Kim Hall, Kathy Esser Anderson (Larry), Kent Esser, Kevin Esser and Kelly McKee (Jack); and his brother Bill Hartfelder (Becky). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church (2926 Beaver Ave, Des Moines, IA 50310). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial donations in Jerry's memory may be directed to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Des Moines, Iowa.
