He was predeceased by: his wife Lola Selby Teater; his parents, Walter Teater and Helen Teater; his siblings, Anita Faye and Richard Warren; and his son Kelvin Teater.
He is survived by: his sister-in-law Karen Jones Teater of Fresno, California; his daughter Teresa Teater Hanks of Covington, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Meghan, D. J., Nathan and Sydney; his stepchildren, Trish Garrison, Brian Selby (Bonnie), Shanda Ring (Joe) and Kara Armell; his stepgrandchildren, Kasey, Ethan (Kiley), Cheyenne (Noah), Nathan, Taylor (Clint), Tanner (Shelby), Skyler (Ryan), Nicholas (Kenedy), Noah and Makenna; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Liam, Emma, Will, Wyatt, Karver and Korbyn. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lola and Tyler Scholarship Fund for Occupational Therapy in honor of his late wife, Lola.
