He was predeceased by: his parents, Alois Winter and Mary Winter (Pfeiler); his wife Kathleen "Kay" Craugh; his siblings, Gerald and Martina Vogt; his brothers-in-law, Joseph Vogt and Dan Craugh; and his great grandchild Edith Anne Raes.
He is survived by: his sons, Carl, Dave Winter (Dorothy) of Johnston, IA and Steve Winter of Newcastle, WA; his grandchildren, Andrew Winter (Jessica), Tim Winter, Mike Raes (Betsy), Ashley Harms (Tyler), Alex Winter and Hayden Winter; his sister-in-law Pat Craugh of Sinsinawa, WI; and his friend Lynne Lippert (Don Heming) of Dubuque.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Resurrection School, of which he was a proud supporter.
