He was predeceased by: his father Milford Thompson; and his brother Terry. He is survived by: his mother Margaret Thompson (Anderson) of Story City; his son David of Ellsworth; his wife Kay Thompson; his daughter April Ward (Jamie) of Daejeon; his grandchildren, Tavin, Abeny and Elsie; his brothers, Bruce Thompson (Lori) of Jewell and Dennis Thompson (Pat) of Ames; his sister-in-law Linda Thompson of Story City; and his nieces and nephews, Jason Thompson, Lisa McIlrath (Chris), Eric Thompson (Brooke), Kylie McDonald (Michael), Mark Thompson (Kelly) and Brian Thompson (Pauley).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elim Lutheran Church.
