It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita M. Hummel of Jesup, Iowa, who passed away on January 17, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Henry Kies and Anna K. Kies (Wester); her husband Allen Willard Hummel; her daughter Barbara McGrane; and her siblings, Robert, Richard, Gerald, Melvin, William Kies, Bernadette "Bunny" Cook and Marcella Koshatka.
She is survived by: her sons, Bill Hummel (Karlene) of Jesup and Steve Hummel (Dana) of Jesup; her grandchildren, Jordan McGrane, Troy McGrane, Brenna Tritle (Keegan) and Ben Hummel; her stepgrandchildren, Samantha Formanek (Kyle) and Kylea Brautigam (Nick); her stepgreat-grandchildren, Maverick, Brooks, Nicholas, Kash and Levi; her son-in-law Dennis McGrane of Fairbank, IA; her siblings, Kenneth Kies (Polly) of Silvis, IL and Patty Mangrich of Gilbertville, IA; and her sister-in-law Annetta Kies of Mississippi.
Memorials will be directed to St. Athanasius Catholic Church and Cedar Valley Hospice.
