He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Nie and Elvira Nie (Olinger); and his siblings, Eugene Nie, Raymond Nie, Raphael Nie, Roland Nie, Marlene Taylor and Joanne Strayer.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Nie of Jesup, IA; his sons, Duane Nie (Pam) of North Washington, IA and Brian Nie (Patti) of Jesup, IA; his grandchildren, Abby, Kennady, Johnna, Colton and Aubrey; and his siblings, Bernard Nie (Diane) of Maquoketa, IA, Allan Nie (Teri) of Jesup, IA and Betty Taylor (Ray Kane) of Waterloo, IA..
Memorials will be directed to the church and the Bosco School System.
