With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James J. Rottinghaus (Jesup, Iowa), born in Waterloo, Iowa, who passed away on February 24, 2021. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Firmin Henry Rottinghaus and Alma Rose Rottinghaus (Gales); and his sister-in-law Dessie Rottinghaus. He is survived by: his wife Karen Ann Nie; his children, Kris Kayser (James) of Independence, IA, Michelle Rottinghaus of Cedar Falls, IA, Pam Kies (Aaron), Jeff Rottinghaus (Lori) and Greg Rottinghaus (Pam); his brothers, John E. Rottinghaus of Waterloo, Steve Rottinghaus (Karen) of Brighton, MI and Gerald Rottinghaus of Waterloo; his siblings-in-law, Patricia Rottinghaus of Waterloo and Robert Kolar of Cedar Rapids, IA.; his grandson Jeremiah Kayser; and his siblings, Mike Rottinghaus, Sandra Kipp Franken and Cheryl Kolar. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
Memorials will be directed to Immaculate Conception Church and the Bosco System in Gilbertville and to Cedar Valley Hospice in Waterloo.
