He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Reiter and Angela Reiter (Klein); his siblings, Evelyn Reiter, Maggie Burk (Ves), Dorothy Bohnstengel (Leo), Olivia Werner (Chuck) and Harold Reiter (Jackie); his stepsister Patty McKenna (Bob) of Waterloo; his parents-in-law, Glen Foss, Don Zmolek, Ann Reiter (Maurice), Tom Smith, Jim Schmitz, Judy Meier and Bob Schmitz; and his granddaughter Eva Reiter.
He is survived by: his mother-in-law Gertrude Reiter (Klein); his stepson Don; his wife Phyllis Ann Meier of Jesup; his children, Mark (Rita) of Sheffield, Mike (Carol) of Waterloo, Sue O'Loughlin (Gerald) of Jesup, Gertie Monat (Tony) of Lansing, Katy Sweeney (James) of Independence and Angie Auel (Jason) of Fairbank; his sister Luella Zmolek of Cedar Falls; his stepsisters, Novie Foss and JoAnn Phillips (Cletus) of Waterloo; and his parents-in-law, Rita Smith of Sumner, Maxine Schmitz of Raymond, Fred Meier (Stella) of Gilbertville, Eva Schmitz of Jesup, Bernie Meier of Virginia and Kenny Meier (Moe) of Hollywood, FL.. He is also survived by 22 Grandchildren and 20 Great-Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Athanasius School, Don Bosco High School, or Cedar Valley Hospice.
