He is survived by: his wife Dee; his children, Martin Johnson (Kim) of Wisconsin, Phillip Johnson (Jama) of Grundy Center, Tammie Carey (Doug) of Hampton, Dawn De Vries (Chad) of Waukee and Julie Gunderson of Hampton; and his brothers, Steven and Gregory. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to hospice or two of Russ's favorite Jefferson Elk's Projects; "Dictionaries for grade schools" or "Books for Reading".
