He was predeceased by: his parents, John Weston and Mabel Owens (Hanson); his son Mike Sr.; his siblings, Kenneth, Eldon, Leland, Treva Curry, Lois Beeson, Katherine Vincent, Gwenyth Owens and Phyllis Powell Henrikson; and his brother-in-law Melvin Miller.
He is survived by: his friends, Paul Patter and Robert Calvert; his wife Janet Miller of Cooper; his son Michael; his friend Les Duoos; his children, Gayle Roberts (Mitchell) of Clarion and James (Sonya) of Marshalltown; his grandchildren, Michael Owens Jr. of Decorah, Edward Owens of Alaska, Robbie Baretich (Scott Lyons) of Colorado Springs, CO. and Allison Rasmus of Belmond; and his sisters, Norma Huffman and Bonnie Duncan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and relatives.
