He was predeceased by: his parents, John Steffen and Barbara Steffen (Caillard); his wife Vanda Roever; and his brother Joseph Steffen. He is survived by: his children, Mary Creech of Shell Rock and Robert Steffen (Diana) of Waverly; his grandchildren, Alisa Turner (Shane), Sara Wehling (Scott), Lawrence Creech, Kayla Woods (Brian), Jenna Steffen and John Steffen; his great grandchildren, Jaylen Turner, Hailey Wehling, Deron Turner, Andrew Wehling, Zachery Turner and Easton Wehling; and his brothers, Donald Steffen (Lorraine) of Cedar Rapids and Vincent Steffen (Jackie) of Cedar Rapids.

Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation.
