James Michael Metcalf Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Michael Metcalf of Janesville, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 5, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Metcalf and Marie Metcalf (Rabel); and his brother Gary Lee Metcalf. He is survived by: his wife Debbie; his children, Charlie Metcalf (Roxy) of Janesville, Priscilla Smith (Ryan) of Stillwater, MN, Libby Hintgen (Greg) of Sioux Falls, SD and Clair Metcalf; his grandchildren, Amelia, Alexander, Ava Smith, Clara, Gabrielle Hintgen, Noah Metcalf, Madeline and Otis Farrell; and his siblings, Bob Metcalf (Sue) of Spencer and Lisa Guinn (Vance) of Pinedale, WY.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church (715 College St, Cedar Falls, IA 50613).
