He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Gaubatz and Anita Gaubatz (Devereux); his wife Marla King; and his brother-in-law Marv Clifton. He is survived by: his children, Monica Penning (Roy), Tina Gaubatz, Joe Gaubatz (Kim) and Nicole Martin (Wayne); his grandchildren, Erin Grimm (David), Kaitlyn Renberg (Danny), Heather Redenius (Mitch), Justin Brady, Bobbie Jo Brady-Dahl (Brett), Gabby Gaubatz (Griffin Cameron), Grady Gaubatz (Kori Knox) and Kyle Prahm (Sarah); his great grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Gavin Grimm, Lee, Louis, Lainey Renberg, Ellie, Brenson Dahl, Raelynne Brady, Kolsen, Keaton and Kallen Prahm; and his siblings, Marv Gaubatz (Faye) and Marlene Bohl (Roger). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, extended family, and many friends.
Should friends desire, memorials may be left in care of Jim's family, to be given to a charity in Jim and Marla's honor.
