He was predeceased by: his parents, James Nebel and Olive Nebel (Sonderman); and his parents-in-law, John and Helen Smith. He is survived by: his wife Janice Smith; his sons, Paul (Christina) of Elgin, OK and Thomas of Farragut, Iowa.; his great grandchild Violet Viorato (Audrey) of Nebraska City, NE.; and his siblings, Joe Nebel (Paula O.), Gary Nebel (Pam), John Nebel Glenwood (Ronda), Julie Broman (Jeff) and Mary Cutler (Mark) of Coin Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
