It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kenneth Van Gelder (Ireton, Iowa), born in Orange City, Iowa, who passed away on May 18, 2019, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gelder and Anna Van Gelder (DeVries); his wife Henrietta Bronkhorst; his siblings, George Van Gelder (Frances), Charles Van Gelder, Gary Van Gelder, Margaret (John Reinders), Jennie (Marion Schalekamp), Mary Ann (Marv Vlieger), Agnes Van Gelder and Johanna Hofland; and his niece Mary Wissink.
He is survived by: his uncle Dick; his children, Gary Van Gelder (Crystal) of Ireton, Iowa, Laura Van Gelder of Sioux Falls and Sandra Barnes (Kenny) of Alcester; his grandchildren, Rie Barnes of Brookings, Erik Barnes of Watertown, Sonjia Barnes of Beresford and Carter Erickson of Hawarden, Iowa; his brother Randall Van Gelder of Orange City; and his sister-in-law Carol Van Gelder. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
