He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucian Cornish and Irene Cornish (Borchers); his son Curt Cornish; his parents-in-law, Vern and Minnie Pendleton (Utesch); his brother Darrell Cornish; and his sister-in-law Imogene Dickman (Don).
He is survived by: his wife Donna Rae Cornish of Ireton; his sons, Greg Cornish (Doris) of Akron, IA, Barry Cornish of Craig, IA and Bruce Cornish (Phayvanh) of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, BJ Cornish, Brett Cornish (Dana), Jessica Cornish, Justin Cornish, Tony Chounramany (Thumm), Tiffany Chounramany, Gema Gutierrez (Dan) and Curtis Cornish; and his sister-in-law Chris Cornish of Milwaukee, WI. He is also survived by 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family graveside service will take place at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery – Preston Township, rural Akron, Iowa with Reverend Trish Underberg officiating.
