He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Skogman and Madelyn Skogman (Vander Schoor); his wife Patricia Elaine Houlton; and his brothers, Steve and Jerry Skogman.

He is survived by: his children, Dana Hamilton (Brent) of Harrisburg, Dean Skogman (Paige) of Sioux Falls and Dan Skogman of Hinton; his grandchildren, Brianne, Austin and Breken; his great grandchildren, Alyse, Alex, Anika and Blake; his sister Delores Abbey (Don) of McCook, Nebraska; his sister-in-law Norma Skogman of Hawarden; and also, Barb Marienau of Sheldon, Iowa, Doug Houlton (Sue) of Ireton, Bruce Houlton (Janet) of Earlville and Don Eisma of Prior Lake, Minnesota..
